Detailed: 16-Day Kenya, Namibia and Botswana Explorer
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Welcome to Kenya. Your guide meets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and drives you to Ole Sereni Hotel. The hotel overlooks Nairobi National Park, so zebras and giraffes often graze in view. Rest, swim, or stretch your legs after the flight. The 16-Day Kenya, Namibia and Botswana Explorer begins with a calm afternoon.
Later, visit the Giraffe Centre in Karen. You feed Rothschild’s giraffes from a raised platform. Next, stop at the Kazuri Beads Centre, where local women shape and paint ceramic beads by hand. In the evening, your guide hosts a welcome briefing. Then enjoy a Kenyan dinner of nyama choma and ugali.
Days 2-4: Masai Mara Game Drives and Maasai Culture
After breakfast on Day 2, you drive west across the Great Rift Valley. The road climbs the escarpment, and the views stretch for miles. You pause for photos and a short break. By early afternoon, you reach Mara Serena Safari Lodge. A cool drink and lunch welcome you before your first game drive.
Days 3 and 4 belong to the Mara. You leave at sunrise with a packed breakfast, because big cats hunt in the cool early hours. Your guide positions the vehicle for the best sightings and photographs. Lions, elephants, cheetahs, and giraffes roam the plains. Between July and October, wildebeest gather at the Mara River. Midday brings a picnic lunch beside a hippo pool.
For culture, visit a Maasai village near the reserve. The community welcomes you with a traditional jumping dance. You learn how families build homes, make fire, and care for cattle. Moreover, you can try beadwork with the women’s cooperative. Purchases from the craft market go directly to local households.
Each evening, return to the lodge for a sundowner on the terrace. The sky turns orange and purple while hyenas call in the distance. On one night, join a Maasai storytelling session by the fire. Hosts explain herding traditions, beadwork, and warrior songs.
Day 5: Masai Mara to Windhoek
After a final morning game drive, you board a scheduled flight to Nairobi. The flight offers sweeping views of the Rift Valley. Our team assists with check-in and transfers at every step. Then you connect to your flight toward Windhoek, Namibia. The route usually passes through Johannesburg.
You arrive by evening, and your driver takes you to your hotel. Namibia’s capital feels clean, calm, and spacious. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Try game dishes such as oryx or kudu if you feel adventurous. Rest well, because desert adventures await.
Days 6-7: Windhoek to Sossusvlei
On Day 6, begin with a short Windhoek city tour. Visit the Christuskirche and the Independence Memorial Museum. Local guides explain how Namibia moved from German colonial rule to independence. Then you drive south toward the Namib Desert. The road crosses open plains and rocky hills.
You reach your desert lodge by late afternoon. The lodge sits among red dunes and acacia trees. Enjoy a sundowner as the light turns the sand orange. Dinner follows under a sky packed with stars. The Namib offers some of the clearest night skies on Earth.
On Day 7, rise before dawn and drive into Sossusvlei. Climb Dune 45 or Big Daddy as the sun rises. The sand glows deep red against the blue sky. Then walk to Deadvlei, a white clay pan dotted with ancient black trees. Photographers love this surreal scene.
In the afternoon, visit Sesriem Canyon, a narrow gorge carved by the Tsauchab River. Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening. For culture, ask your hosts about the San people, the region’s first inhabitants. Their tracking skills and plant knowledge shaped life in the desert for thousands of years.

7-Day Namibia Wildlife & Sossusvlei Safari
Day 8: Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
After breakfast, you drive to Swakopmund on the Atlantic coast, about five hours away. The road passes Walvis Bay, where flamingos feed in the lagoon. Dunes meet the ocean in a striking contrast. You check in at your hotel in Swakopmund.
In the afternoon, stroll through the old German-style town. Colonial buildings line the streets, and cafés serve strudel and fresh seafood. Visit the Swakopmund Museum to learn about the coast’s history. Dinner follows at a seafront restaurant. The 16-Day Kenya, Namibia and Botswana Explorer now shifts from dune to ocean.
Days 9-10: Swakopmund to Damaraland
On Day 9, take a morning tour of the coastal desert. Join a guide on a living desert excursion. You search for tiny geckos, chameleons, and beetles hidden in the sand. Their survival skills surprise most guests. After lunch, drive inland to Damaraland, about four hours away.
Your camp sits among granite boulders and open valleys. Staff greet you with a cool drink. Enjoy a sundowner on a nearby ridge. Dinner follows by the fire under the stars.
On Day 10, search for desert-adapted elephants along dry riverbeds. These elephants walk long distances to find water. Then visit Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thousands of ancient rock engravings cover the sandstone. Local guides explain their meaning and age.
In the afternoon, join a Himba cultural visit. Himba women coat their skin with red ochre and butter. Hosts show you their homes, jewellery, and daily routines. Purchases from the craft stalls support the community. Return to camp for a relaxed evening.
Days 11-12: Etosha National Park
After breakfast on Day 11, you drive to Etosha National Park, about four hours away. The road crosses open farmland and distant hills. You check in at Etosha Safari Lodge. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive. The park surrounds a vast white salt pan.
Waterholes draw elephants, lions, and giraffes. Black rhinos often appear at dusk. Zebras and springbok graze in large herds. Your guide positions the vehicle for the best views. Return to the lodge for dinner and a floodlit waterhole visit.
Day 12 offers a full day of game drives. Rise early, because predators hunt in the cool air. Birdlife is rich, with raptors, ostriches, and colourful rollers. After a picnic lunch, visit more waterholes. Patience often rewards you with lions, leopards, or hyenas. The lodge team can also share stories of nearby Owambo and Herero communities.
Day 13: Etosha to the Okavango Delta
After breakfast, you transfer to the airstrip for a flight to Maun, Botswana. The flight takes about two hours, with a stop along the way. Our team assists with every transfer. From Maun, a light aircraft carries you into the Okavango Delta. Below you, channels, islands, and herds form a living map.
Your camp sits on a quiet island in the water maze. Staff greet you with a cool drink. In the afternoon, glide through the channels in a mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe. A poler guides you quietly past lilies and reeds. Frogs, kingfishers, and sometimes hippos appear.

Okavango Delta
Days 14-15: Okavango Delta Camp
Day 14 starts with a sunrise game drive on the island. Lions, leopards, and wild dogs hunt in the cool air. Red lechwe and impala splash through the shallows. Your guide shares tracking skills along the way. Breakfast follows in the bush.
After a midday rest, join a guided bush walk. Walking brings you close to tiny details, from beetles to tracks. Your guide explains how locals use plants for food and medicine. Return to camp for a sundowner and dinner. Evening sounds of frogs and hyenas fill the night.
On Day 15, take a longer mokoro excursion to a nearby island. Elephants, giraffes, and zebras often graze there. The poler shares stories of life in the delta. Many guests find this slow pace deeply calming.
In the afternoon, visit a village on the delta’s edge. Residents show you how they weave baskets and fish with traditional traps. Women sing songs that echo across the water. Return to camp for a farewell dinner under the stars.
Day 16: Departure from the Okavango Delta
After a final morning game drive, you fly to Maun. Our team assists with every transfer. There you connect to your onward flight. Many guests choose Johannesburg as their gateway home.
You leave with full memories, strong friendships, and a deeper bond with Africa. The 16-Day Kenya, Namibia and Botswana Explorer ends here. However, the connection with Terenga Africa continues long after you land. Many guests return to trek gorillas in Rwanda or explore Tanzania’s Serengeti.

The journey takes travelers toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of Africa’s most important mountain gorilla destinations. Instead of endless grasslands, Uganda introduces misty forests, rolling hills, and beautiful green landscapes. Gorilla trekking provides the main highlight of this extension. Travelers enter the forest with experienced guides and trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.
The journey through Bwindi becomes an adventure itself. Dense vegetation, forest sounds, colorful birds, and changing trails create an exciting atmosphere. Eventually, visitors spend valuable time observing mountain gorillas in their natural environment.
The extension can also include cultural experiences around Bwindi. Travelers may discover local traditions, crafts, music, food, and community life.
